I began to design the Sair da Casca project in 1992, shortly after I arrived in Portugal. The idea was to combine the experience achieved during the years in which I was a volunteer in NGOs, with skills acquired in the world of journalism and communication. The Sair da Casca project was born from the conviction that business is a formidable engine of change and that socially responsible performance creates a “virtuous cycle”, crucial for business success. Sair da Casca was the first company entirely dedicated to the subject of social responsibility, as it was emerging in Portugal. Currently, the objective of the consulting enterprise is to continue to encourage and monitor the progress towards sustainability, Sair da Casca positions itself as an activist for sustainable development, improving the role of business in society .In the last years, our team developed a project research on the issue of measuring social impacts (2011) and created the Action Tank Portugal dedicated to inclusive and social business (2011). Since 2004, a Sair da Casca is working with the European Commission on issues such as diversity, inclusion and disability.
